Palisade State Park
big green flower
This beautiful state park is the perfect place to spend the day. There is so much to do while you are at the park go golfing, fishing, boating, OVH riding, and hiking. The after that stop in at the Lakeside Grill and enjoy a bite to eat.

When you go golfing at the park there are 18 holes that stretch over 6360 yards. The play is a little longer because par 5s play uphill. This is a fun course for even the most advanced player because of the difficulties located around the greens. One of the hardest parts of the course is hole number 4. It is 179-yard par 3 and has an elevation that drops 70 feet which requires the golfers to carry the ball over the canyon. If a ball is hit to long it will hit the mountain behind the green and ricochet. On the other side of this, a ball that is hit short will go to rest onto the canyon below.
For those that want to spend some time on the water, there are plenty of area activities for visitors. The park actually includes rentals like paddle boats, paddleboards, canoes, and kayaks. The best part is that the rentals include the use of life jackets and paddles. If you already have your boat, paddleboards, and canoes and just want to rent a life jacket you can do that as well. While on the water go fishing. Palisade State Park allows fishing. The majority of the fish that are caught here are the rainbow trout, tiger trout, and a few cutthroat trout. There is a limit of 4 trout.

If you would like to do a little hiking that is always an option as well. There are trails that reach around the west side of the reservoir over the dam. Some of the trails go a little bit higher and overlook the valley and the farmland below. There are also some trails that continue up onto the hillside west of the lake.
